Lead Occupational Therapist

Permanent | Full time role based in East Sussex.
Salary: up to £52,000 per annum.

Our well established client are looking for a Lead Occupational Therapist to join their team on a permanent basis. 

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with other Service Leads in Occupational Therapy, carrying portfolio service responsibilities that may bridge all specialties.
  • Take a lead role in the development, implementation and review of local policies and procedures required to deliver high quality, evidence based occupational therapy service.
  • Be a source of knowledge and expertise regarding Occupational Therapy Services, relatives and colleagues of all disciplines both within the site.
  • Manage and co-ordinate the delivery of occupational therapy services on a day to day basis.
  • Manage the OT team and oversee the clinical supervision of all staff within the OT team through the implementation of a supervision structure of more senior / experienced staff supervising less experienced.
  • Undertake specialist clinical assessments where required for the relevant service lines provided for example Sensory assessments.
  • Oversee student placements within the OT team.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • HCPC registered.
  • BSC or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • Appropriate clinical post graduate courses completed.
  • Broad experience post qualification with significant experience in acute sector clinical OT.
  • Working knowledge of current national and local health care issues.
  • Experience of supervising/teaching under and post graduate staff.
